On August 29th, the new postal rates will come into effect.
USPS has updated postage rates for most of the common mailing services including EDDM.
Below is a summary and a chart detailing the new rates for the primary categories that affect our clients.
- The First Class Mail letter (1 oz.) rate for postage purchased at the Post Office $0.58.
- Each additional ounce for a First Class Mail letter will cost an extra $0.20.
- First Class Mail Flats/Large Envelope rates will now cost $1.16 (1 oz.), with additional ounces remaining at $0.20.
- Postcard rates are also increasing and will now cost $0.40, however USPS has increased the size of postcard eligible for this rate to 6” x 9”.
- Metered Mail rate will still save 5 cents compared to the Post Office price and is now at $0.53.
- EDDM Retail will now cost $0.20.
